Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Internet Marketing But Didn't Know Who To Ask
There are short cuts to reduce the learning curve, but there are no secrets
Knowing is half the battle. Good, solid, how-to succeed with internet marketing information abound on the internet and in every book store and library in the land.
While sifting through the mountainous volumes and reams of information you will notice that there are certain truths, specific methods, tried and true procedures that rang forth time and time
again.
The truth is there are no real secret to successful internet marketing. The sellers of information product tell you that there are.
In actuality, there are only new vehicles (ie...the
internet, email, fax machines, telephone answering machines, conference calls, bulletin boards, etc) available to accomplish the same old purpose.
Internet marketing, well for that matter marketing in general, involves 6 basic steps. Your Ultimate Goal is to "make a sale without face to face
contact." To accomplish this you must
- (1) determine who wants and needs your product or service,
- (2) find out how and where they can be reached,
- (3) develop a message to tell them who, what, when, where, HOW, and most important WHY they need your offering and how to get it,
- (4) get your message to them,
- (5) follow up with additional messages, customer services, and special offers,
- (6) then test, test, test until you get the response you want.
One common thread you'll probably notice in the list of basic steps is that each step requires some type of action. For some reason a lot of would be
marketeer seem to believe that thinking about what they will do, or planning what they will do, or even talking about what they plan to do without taking the necessary action will get it
accomplished.
A few will go as far as to try one of their ideas one time, maybe two times, and then they sit back and wait for the results. Nothing happens. So they go back to the belief that there
must be a secret to getting this marketing thing to work. Again, there is no secrets.
You must work at it until you get it to work. Consistent, persistent, directed action is what it takes. There are
short cuts to reduce the learning curve, but there are no secrets.
