Fifty Year Old Gas Station Attendant Builds Successful Network Marketing Organization


If he can do it why can't you?

Before I discovered how to build a successful network marketing organization I spent many years and a lot of money chasing the dream. Company after company, training course after training course, one new fangled idea after another.

All I wanted to do was be successful in network marketing (at the time it was known as multi level marketing). I'm sure you know what I mean.

If you are reading this, you are or probably were doing just like I was. You too are seeking direction. You read the articles and personal profiles of those who have made it to the top and think...why not me? Why haven't I made it yet?

From what you were reading, your thoughts were, hey, they (the top money earners) aren't doing that much more differently (work wise) than I (it seems). Why is it working for them and hasn't for me?

You rationalized that they are just lucky or someone aided them or GOD loves them better. Anything you can think of to justify why them and not you.

I know I did.

But I also believed...if they can do it, than so can I.

Do You?

I continued to search for an answer. That magic key that would open the door to my dream world of network marketing success. Financial freedom, money to make sure my children could have a college education, spare money for emergencies and luxuries. I decided I would not give up until I had what I wanted.

You obviously feel the same way because you are here.

Continuing despite the unsuccessful outcomes is one of your most important steps you must make. The unsuccessful outcomes you experience during your pursuit of your goal are learning lessons. Each lesson includes insights and experiences that can be helpful to you in the future.

It is important to study them. Analyze them to extract the lesson. Milk the essence from it. Write it down and make sure you do not repeat it.

Remember crazy is when a person continues to do the same thing over and over again and expects different results. Stop acting crazy.

What else do you need to do?

Study. I know you have been studying. But who, what, and when have you been studying? Are those who you are studying successful? Is the information on how they achieved their success something that you can copy? Have you applied what they recommend?

Studying is not only reading. It also includes understanding, assimilating and applying the information. Have you been doing that also?

There are numerous sites on the internet written and manned by top notch network marketing people who give freely of there knowledge, Joe Schroeder at MLMbigfish.com. Big Al's site Fortune Now.com, and Art Meakins just to name a few.

On the Free E-Book page of this web site are some Downloadable E-books that should be a helpful addition to your study program. Learn from the experts then apply what you've learned. This is essential.

Consistent Efforts is one of the things the experts will tell you is a must do.

You, like many of us, often confuse your spotty efforts and actions, which produce poor and often no results with real work.

What I mean is that this is a business and must be treated like it is. Look at what you do with your network marketing business. Compare it with what you do when you go to work. If you did on your job what you do with your network marketing business would you keep your job long? Would your boss reward you with that weekly or bi-weekly pay check for similar performance?

You're probably laughing because you know the answer is no.

A plan on how you will do your work daily and sticking to that plan is another essential.

You cannot expect (well you can expect to... but remember what crazy is), to achieve the outcome you seek if your efforts are not correct, consistent and directed.

A certain number of contacts must be made daily, weekly and monthly. A certain amount of investment in product and advertising must be spent. A certain amount of time daily must be given to thinking and planning for the growth of your business. A certain amount of training and study to stay on top of what is happening in the industry must be devoted. Helping your down line members to develop, to grow and duplicate your consistent, directed, correct efforts must also not be over looked.

What you do, they will do. This is a follow the leader business. It takes work. If you aren't will to work at this business you are wasting your time.

A System. A method to get the word out about yourself and your business which invites those out there to raise their hand and let you know they are interested. This does not mean advertising only. It means you need to market yourself and your business. Yes, there is a difference between advertising and marketing.

When promoting your business, your product and/or your opportunity, if you pay for it, it's advertising. If it is FREE, it is marketing. Publicity Power is an excellent resource on how to get FREE Publicity to promote your business. It is available in our catalog.

You will run out of your immediate warm market (friends, family and acquaintances) to market your business to. You must have a system to capture the attention of those outside of your warm market and invite them to learn about your business. One of the most popular methods used to do this is offering your own opt-in email newsletter. How to Publish Your Own Newsletter is a how to guide. It offers insights which will lead you to a highly profitable sideline in newsletter publishing.

Offering Free information as a loss leader such as Free E-books, Free Reports, and Free Email Training Courses are other effective ways. Your purpose is not to sell them with their first exposure. You want to make your initial contact and obtain their permission to drip market to them over a period of time.

Drip marketing builds relationships. Not until you have established a relationship will you be able to sell them on your product or service. The relationship occurs through repeated positive exposure to your name over a period of time. That exposure, your prompt follow through, and your helpful content inspires "like and trust" between you and the receiver.

Other parts of your system should include qualified lead purchasing, classified and display advertising, both on and off line, joint ventures, writing and publishing ezine articles and your web site. These efforts are your front end attack.

After you have captured them you back end them with your offer, your product, your service, your business opportunity. Without a system in place and in action, which does not include most, if not all of these ideas, you most likely will not generate enough people to tell your story to. Without people to talk to and tell about your business how can your grow?

This is a people business. The more people you contact and tell about what you have to offer, the more people can and will make a decision to join you.

Make sense?

See why you need a system? This is oh so important.

A Mentor. Someone to talk to when you are ready to quit. Someone in the business that can help smooth over the rough spots. Someone who can reassurance you that the rough spots are a part of the learning curve which they experienced also. A mentor is your sounding board, your coach, your friend and a great help. Their advice and assistance is very valuable.

Find yourself a mentor. It could be your upline. Someone in the company's leadership. A more experienced distributor. Find them. Establish a relationship with them.

Make sure it is someone who is already successful in the business. Look outside your own company if you have to but find someone. Every great success has had a mentor. They really can help make the rough spots smooth and enhance your businesses success.

A Good Program allow you to earn a full time income with part time efforts. A good program has consumable products. A good program requires a minimum monthly product purchase (if no products are purchased where will your income come from?) A good program has been around for five or more years. A good program has a track record of consistent on time bonus check payments. A good program has a management team which is distributor focused. A good program has a product source which keeps their supply of products in stock. A good program has aids, resources, training and a communication vehicle available for the benefit of all distributors. A good program has products the market wants. A good program is constantly growing and shows signs of continued growth. A good program has a high on hand cash availability and low debt ratio.

Are you in a good program? If you are not I would suggest you find one. Because of the effort and the time you will spend building your downline and your income you cannot afford to take a chance on anything other than a good program.

If your program should fail, your income is affected, your down line is affected and your credibility can be affected. Don't waste your time on any thing other than a good program.

Investment I saved for last.

I wanted you to read through this before you got here. Most times when you mention you have to spend money it stops a lot of people dead in their tracks. They want the rewards but not at the expense of spending money.

It is not logical to believe you can grow a business and produce an income with out investing time and MONEY in that business.

If you had a brick and mortar business, ie a store or a factory or a body shop and you did not pay your rent (investment), or purchase supplies (investment), or pay your employees (investment), how long would you be in that business?

The same applies to your network marketing business. If you don't purchase products (investment), or advertise (investment), purchase training materials (investment), purchase leads (investment), or participate in another means to advertise, promote and learn about your business and it's products (investment), how long will you be in this business?

Not very long.

Why? Because you will leave it believing that it's a hoax. You will go try something else that promises you something for nothing, only to experience the same failure all over again.

If you are not willing to spend money on your business, don't waste your time. You should be prepared to invest a minimum of $150.00 to $200.00 monthly, and that is on the conservative low end, on your business. Without it, it's like sitting in front of your heater stove on a cold cold night telling it to give you some heat and and after it produces heat, then you will add the wood. It will not work. You will most likely freeze to death unless you change your approach.

That's how I did it.

I believed in myself and gave myself permission to succeed. Then I started a study program. Gathering as much for free information as I could. I also purchased courses on every good network marketing, business marketing, and how to method I could get my hands on.

I applied what I learn and became consistent in my work efforts, working daily on my plan. I got involved in a good program, developed a system to capture the names of people interested in a home business opportunity and drip marketed my message to them. I also invested in myself, my program and the promotion of my system.

Within 6 months I was earning money for the first time after years and years of zero earnings. A year later I could have quit my job but I held on to it a while longer. I begin to use it as a prospecting source. Here it is 18 months later and I earn over three times my previous jobs' (noticed I said previous job) income and now I am a full time network marketeer.

The steps I took to get here are all listed above. It was hard at times and easy at times. I stuck with it through both times.
